Keen to explore the haptic benefits of learning and making through clay, Duncan is working with Julia Rowntree to develop Thinking Hands?, the research element of Clayground Collective. They are currently

working with Writing West Midlands, Spread the Word, Institute of Philosophy UCL, Camden Libraries, Centre for Studying the Senses UCL, Freeword Centre and the John Ruskin Society and Guild of St George.

Duncan has worked with Roger Kneebone, Professor of Surgical Education at Imperial College and Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellow, and recently invited him to Central Saint Martins in London to lead

a team of surgical students in learning about the craft of surgery through working with clay. Duncan was then featured as the master craftsperson as part of Roger’s TEDMEDLive lecture
